The Seer and the Nightingale

A knowledgeable Seer is going into the abyss of ignorance. He is indulging in acts conducted by common humans. All his life he has learnt that devoting to one particular person is equivalent to loosing your freedom.
His plight is becoming the same as that of the nightingale that entered the charming prince's golden cage. The prince was in search of a muse to allay his loneliness. The nightingale was not sure what she was looking for initially, but eventually she saw it as her destiny to help the prince out of his distress.

In the day, the prince would go out to hunt and attend to his courtly matters and meet his subjects. Deep down, he was always sorrowed while he traversed the world. So sometimes he would come to the nightingale. And she would sing. Oh and what beautifully articulated notes she would produce from her melodious voice. She would exhaust all her energy singing for him. Maybe her heart secretly wanted to woo him. Or she was just doing what she intended to do: Help him without any attachment.

As the Seer sees her, this nightingale is now sad. She is trapped in a cage of her own making. Even today, she can break the cage and fly away. She can sing to her own muse and for the bountiful jungle. But her desire to be with the charming prince because of love's sake is the only thing that ties her down.

"What is this love that you are killing your days for, dear Bird of Song?", asks the Seer.
She replies, "I want to say that it is the expectation of comfort that comes from being in the arms of a trustworthy person, but I know another love that is more comforting. That of our Creator.
"My heart desires to say that I am attracted to the prince, but I am unaware if this is to be deemed as a cause of love or its effect.
"I can rant about me wanting to loose myself into someone else in order to find myself, but my brain doesn't believe this lie."

"If you know all this, why don't you break free?" asks the Seer again.
"Is it not love  to be blind sighted even in broad day light?"she replies.

There is gloom in the air and both melancholic souls realize their oneness.
